Spoono Story

A short, short time ago in a galaxy known as Pittsburgh, PA, a web site called Spoono was started to house the creative outpourings of two young prodigies. The story started one day in the summer of 2000 when Brian Fusco and Akash Goel were both chatting with Dave Dunkerley (a friend who lives in California and is the webmaster of Absolute Cross). Dave mentioned to Brian, "You should talk to my buddy Akash, since he has a website just like yours," and Brian was like, "Ok." So Brian and Akash starting talking, and they noticed how their websites were perfect complements for each other (Akash ran the now defunct The Links Archive, and Brian ran the now defunct Free Spot). One thing led to another, and Brian asked Akash where he lived. After Akash told him, Brian was like, "Oh my God, that's freaking ten minutes from my house." So, the two decided to team up and create one website that would dominate the web design world. Thus, after a long and difficult process of name choosing (a special thanks to the person who registered sharpspoon.com after we already had the design made for it ;o), Spoono was born, April 1, 2001.

Sometime around Spoono's first birthday, Akash, Brian, and Dave decided that it would benefit both their websites if they had a large discussing board site where their visitors could discuss, surprisingly enough, web design. So, the trio combined their efforts to create Tutorial Forums. Around the same time, Akash, Brian, and Dave merged all their sites onto one dedicated server; life was good. After more time passed and Spoono grew big and strong, eating more than its share of green vegetables, Akash and Brian realized that it was starting to become a fairly significant business. So, the two combined their business savy to register Spoono as a full-blown limited liability corporatation. Thus, on June 20, 2003, Spoono became the flagship website of Spoono, LLC. Shortly thereafter, Brian and Akash launched the latest and greatest version of Spoono, v4, along with its sister site, Spoonloads. Throughout the course of Spoono's existence, numerous other webmasters have contributed additional content and support. We THANK them all so much that it needs capital letters. All right, enough chit chat. Do you want to know more about the dynamic duo who ARE Spoono? We thought so.
