Q: What programs did you use to make Spoono?
We used three basic programs to create everything at Spoono. For the graphics we used Adobe Photoshop mainly, adding a touch of Discreet 3D Studio Max for any 3D graphics. Most of the XHTML, XML, and PHP that drives our site was hand coded using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX in Codeview Mode. Our style sheets were hand coded using Bradbury Software's TopStyle Pro.
Q: I like your tutorials. Can I put them on my site?
We here at Spoono work very hard crafting our tutorials, spending fantastic amounts of time on each. We wish to maintain ownership of our tutorials, but we will allow you to link to them on our web servers or open the tutorials stored on our servers inside a frame.
Q: I'm a fiendishly talented web designer. Could I write some tutorials for Spoono?
Yes. We love to accept useful, original tutorials. If you would like to submit a tutorial, please see our How to Write a Flash Tutorial, Graphics Tutorial, and Programming Tutorial pages. (Please note that 3D Studio Max and Flash tutorials follow the Programming Tutorial format).
Q: How can I get my artwork featured on Spoono's main page in the Artbox?
We are always accepting new art submissions for our Artbox area. They can be images, Flash files, or videos relating to anything (no porn please). Getting your artwork featured on Spoono is a great way to boost the popularity of your site because we will feature your link and information on our main page and it will be accessible permanently in our Artbox Archive. Please email submissions to webmaster@spoono.com.
Q: Wanna trade links?
We'll think about it. As long as you have a decent site that is relevant to the material available at Spoono, we will consider adding your site to our our various resource archives, which can be accessed from the right column of all main content pages. All we ask is that you be willing to link to Spoono in return. Our Support area on the main page works in a similar way, but we are very selective about the sites we add there. Also, note that no matter what your site is like, we will link to it if you send us artwork that gets featured in the Artbox.
Q: Can I have a Spoono button/banner/logo to link back to Spoono on my website?
Our link back images can be found here. If you link back to Spoono, you instantly become cool. We highly recommend doing so.
Q: How do you make your site change styles/flavors?
Because of the volume of our styles/flavors, we have opted to do it using PHP cookies in conjunction with different CSS files and images that are loaded according to the value stored in the user's cookie. For less graphically intense and numerous style changes, there is faster way to do it using Javascript.
Q: How do you make that little icon appear on the address bar?
You can find a tutorial for it here.
Q: Can I become a Grapevine writer?
We usually seek out the people given these privileges, but there's no harm in asking us.
Q: What fonts to you use on your site?
Our logo is made with a font called 04b_09 (which may be downloaded from 04. Our header images, such as the "FAQ" image on the top of this page, are made with Standard 07_66 (which may be downloaded after purchasing an access pass at Miniml). The tiny pixel font used to write our names in Grapevine posts is Mini 7 Condensed (which may be purchased at Mini Fonts).
Q: I found an error on Spoono. What should I do?
First of all, send us an email at webmaster@spoono.com informing us what the error is. Second, hide under your desk and refuse to talk to anyone until we email you back. Then, take the blue pill to forget everything, sort of like the Matrix.
Q: I'm using Netscape 4/Opera 6 and your site's not working.
To put it frankly, we loathe every fiber of Netcape 4's being. In making v4 of our site, we decided to code it adhering to more efficent, modern web standards. Therefore, buggy old Netscape 4 and below can't handle it. Opera 6 has some issues that make it unnable to handle the technologies that drive our site navigation, and some mouseover images. Opera 6 users may still get around using our site map, but we give no guarantees. Netscape 6 also has some issues that we may fix in the future, but have not as of yet. Instead, we highly recommend downloading ANY standards compliant browser to view our site with. These include the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, Safari, or Konqueror.
What script do you use for your Grapevine newsfeed, and can I have it?
Our Grapevine and other content areas on our main page are driven by custom php/mysql scripts written by Akash. Unfortunately, they are heavily integrated in the admin functions of our site, and we can't provide a version for general use without a great deal of effort. Sorry.
Q: Say, I'm a big shot business man, and I want to advertise on Spoono for big $$$.

Q: Can you guys make graphics/websites for me?
We have extremely limited time due to college and other commitments, but on occasion, we do accept paid design work.
Q: Can I have web hosting?
We started our own hosting company a while back called Spoono Host. You may go there for any of your web hosting needs.
Q: Say, how do you get those random titles to appear in the title bar?
Magic. (a.k.a. the PHP demonstrated in our Random Quotes tutorial)
Q: Coke or Pepsi?
Coke.
